"Your Photos" In This Forum
Posted by SeeYou190 on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 9:05 PM

I never noticed this before... shame on me.

.

What are "Your Photos"? Can we link to these in the forum? Can we use this as a photo host? Where do the photos go that we upload here?

It seems to lack an "Upload" button.

that is the collection of photos you posted in the galleries below. Not sure if they can be linked

A pessimist sees a dark tunnel

An optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel

A realist sees a frieght train

An engineer sees three idiots standing on the tracks stairing blankly in space

does this work.  If it does. You will see a 1:29 boxcab under construction.

I have added about a dozen or so here.

They go into the M-R Photo Gallery which is a sub-menu on the "Community" > Popular Topics > Photo Gallery tab in the menu bar above.

The "Upload" button is the blue rectangle under the words "Model Railroading Layouts". The photos have to be approved by a staff member and may not appear for several days.

Good Luck, Ed

You can upload to the MR galleries, but it is a time consuming process and they have to be approved first. Testing embed into the forum:

NVSRR, I just tried your link.  It worked at first, picture was there, and when I clicked submit post, it went away.

Although, I could open it in a seperate window, to view.  Nice!

Ed's got it right, I have a few in there.

Apparently, I discovered that option 9 years ago, with one photo showing.  If I click on either "NEXT" or "PREVIOUS", I get to view someone else's photos, too.

Never mind, I can't make the above link clickable in this forum.  Which means it's not a practical way to use pictures here.

If you insert the link into the little box that opens up when you click on the picture icon, you can actually see the picture.

Personally, I would rather wait until after they work on upgrading the forum software that is supposed to take place soon according to Steve Otte, mentioned some time ago. Before attempting to try things that are right now unpredictable in performance with the present software. Seems like a waste of time, to Me.
