I have obtained an MTH bay window caboose. After research, I found that the caboose runs on O-31 track. I would like a nice wood display case for the caboose to be placed on my desk at home. Does anyone have a suggestion for a wooden display case for this caboose?
Wasn´t that a Lionel caboose a few hours ago? I don´t think you will get different answers than you already have got in your other thread.

Easy on him Urlich, he took my advice. I guess I should have told him he could edit the title. The point is it attracts the people who have an opinion rather than people like me who think

Thank you for the defense. I did make a mistake in identifying the caboose maker. I thought it was a Lionel, but it was an MTH. I just need to find a small nice wooden display case to display it on my desk. When I researched the caboose, it stated that it ran on O-31 track. I am an "HO guy." I need a lot of help finding a display case and a piece of O-31 track to display it. I am very open and honestly seeking advice. Thank you for your time.
Kalmbach's Classic Toy Trains forum includes people more familiar with Lionel, MTH, and other O-31 trains. They may have direct experience with display cases that would help you.

I'd suggest saving all those steps and just giving it to someone that wants it - and let them go through the steps.

wcu Man, no one wants to give you a break. People must have had rough weekend. Well I've been grouchy myself at times on this forum, so I throw no stones.
I think I have seen ads for these in Model Railroader. I have also seen them at the train show at Timonium MD, though not consistently. Mostly they were the cases that hold multiple rows of trains, although I don't venture over to the O scale room except to see layouts. But if there is a train show near you, it would be worth checking out.
The plexiglass cases on ebay seem overpriced to me. The cases on Etsy look nicer. I have never bought anything on Etsy, but the same common sense rules that you would use on Ebay apply there. Avoid negative feedback, newbie sellers and anything that looks too good to be true.
WCU,
I have some nice plexiglass display covers approx 4-5" wide by approx 15" long (I say approx as they are not immeadiately accessible to measure). They are brand new in individual cardboard boxes.
They do NOT have wood bases, but you could improvise there, or just set it on the track on your wood desk top.

Wonder if those display cases that some use to display say 1/24 scale diecast cars would work?

They aren't generally wood, but if you head to Amazon or another hobby dealer and search for "Model display case" you'll find lots of options. I have a feeling the 1:18 scale car cases would be good for you, but first measure the dimensions of the caboose, tack a half an inch or more onto each one and then compare.
As for the track, any O track will work, it's just a matter of how fancy you want it. Scale O 2-rail with ties would probably look the best and cost the most. 0-27 3-rail would be virtualy free at any train show.

Got one out of storage the other day. Turns out they are 3.5" wide and 17" long.
