I know the folks in here will kill me for this, but I do think there is many a fine Hi-Rail layout around. My personal favorite is Norm Charbonneau´s now gone layout - take a look here: <a href="http://norm.beesky.com/" target="_blank">Norm´s Train Pages</a> Take your time and go through all the pages! Heck, this layout would even fit into your 24 by 24 space! If I had the space and the funds - this would be what I´d be wanting to have.
