Airbrush Woodland Scenics liquid pigment
Posted by WPA on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 8:03 PM

Anyone airbrush using Woodland Scenics liquid pigment?  I have black liquid pigment and a coal mine to detail and wondering if someone used it, what did you thin it to. Newbee to airbrushing. I searched the forum before posting but did not see anything, but the search also did not seem to work with any related term. Thanks

I’ve used the WS pigments on all of my Plaster of Paris and Hydrocal rock castings and they are really absorbed quickly especially the black.  I have to use it very sparingly or the rock castings are toast.

I’ve never attempted to spray it, I would expect that to be way too dark.

These rocks have a very light amount of black, the Umber and burnt umber have multiple coats.  Black really does a number on plaster castings.

I have only colored a few tunnel portals with the WS concrete color so thanks for heads up on using sparingly.  I will eventually have a bunch of castings to color. I was thinking of using the black to airbrush some coal weathering on a Cornerstone mine kit.
