I finally finished assembling the P2K kit I got while in ME. It’s quite a step up from Athearn BB kits. I broke a couple stirrups, good thing they gave me extra.
I am still fiddling with the Plattsburgh Industry area trackage, then painting track.
I found a Troller dual throttle at the Massena show for $5. It works great!

N Scale chemical plant -- ethanol plant nearly finished. Still a few pipes to add and some earthquake damage to be repaired. The part that took the longest was the framework for the tower. Need to buy a few more tank cars, but I'm waiting to find some on sale somewhere.

Here is a grade crossing in Parairie View . In the foreground is part of my county park scene, and kids are having a picnic birthday party. ... The last car of the train is a CB&Q Diner/Parlor car which was modernized and painted silver in an effort to match newer stainless steel cars.

SeeYou190the new blower for my new paint booth I am going to build.
Good choice. I have Dayton blower in my spray booth that I built about 30 years ago, and it is still working with no problems. The only maintenace I do is, maybe once a year, take a screwdriver and scrape off the paint dust buildup from the blades.

Very productive week for everybody; the autumn days are coming, time for our trains are better.
I have worked on my last house for my Fos wharf project in N scale
The design of this building in N scale is my own; there is no real buildings like this.
It's entierely scratch from Evergreen parts, Kibri and Plastruct bricks and stones pattern and Tichy Windows.
She's still unfinished, but I haver made some major process, glazing, roofs and some wheathering.
Missing are chimneys, small details the stairs on the left side and fine touch up.
Signs and old advertissement need also to be added; may be for the next week she will be completely finished
I also managed to "put water" in the bassin of the wharf, base painted with cheap acrilycs paint and water formed with Golden gloss medium, missing is a final coat of hyper shinning polyurethane boat varnish.

On the run whith my Maclau River RR in Nscale
I actually got a lot done this week including getting the lighting in the RH going. There is a learning curve trying to figure out how to work with such tiny bits, it is getting easier as I develope new methods for an old guy to handle stuff he can barely see.
This was the mockup I did using copper tape to avoid oversize wires running everywhere.
Partly installed, the RH staff says it beats the lanterns they have been using the past 20 years. I also used microscope coverslips for window glass and it looks stunning through the windows.

Good to see someone else working on a chemical plant, John. Lots of variety and details to model. I went about it in reverse. I had dozens of tank cars with no where to go, so THEN I decided to build the plant.
Nice UP F7s, Allan. Good to see some color in the usually bland eastern railroad scenes.
I always admire your passenger cars, Garry.
Marc, you're on your way to becoming the contemporary E.L. Moore with your beautiful and detailed structures
Lighting structures can be a real pain, Brent, but the end results are great!
I continued with the ground-work of the "Chem-Plant" (unnamed, so far. I'm not sure what I'll be producing there?).

I have a pipe run going from the reformer to the tank farm, still in primer. I'm also test fitting the railing up above.

I ballasted the sidings and added PVA "pavement" to the grounds so trucks and workers will have a good footing. PVA foam is a great way to simulate asphalt pavement. The darker squares will be made to look like recently patched asphalt.

Here's the Walthers tank car loading stand. I added better walkways and the chain supports, all still in primer. Fun stuff!
Speaking of F7s. I remember seeing these former Rio Grande units running around the Cleveland area back in the mid-'70s. I've always wanted one. While browsing the eBay wouldn't you know, an A-B set came up... in Italy!
I just had to have them.

I was a bit surprised to find that they have MRC decoders in them. I forgot that Athearn used these early on, before Tsunamis. I'll be installing Tsunami2s in them.

My old paint booth had a Dayton blower motor also. It has run for twenty years with no issues at all. You can barely see the Dayton name on the tag.
The old booth gave me great service. I bought it from Micro-Mark shortly after I purchased my house.

I probably should have done that too. This is 20 years of build up on the blower wheel. It still evacuated fumes out of the paint booth. Amazing.
The new blower motor is substantially bigger than the old one. It has a rating of 250 cubic feet per minute.

Hold up. That IS a model photo, right? I'm pretty sure, but I have to say that is the most realistic MRR picture I have EVER seen!
I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

I live since six weeks in Quebec Canada.
Yes all my train stuff is in a container; the last news about it was from Hambourg Germany; I have choice a non express travel just because of price, so the ship make some travel here and there before to be sure of crossing the atlantic.
Anyway it's announced for the end of october or begun of november to be in Canada.
About the future extension I have a lot of things to fix in my new home and have little time to do it after work.
The second house where the layout will be placed need some work to be ready to construct the layout.
I hope if everything is running righ to begun work for the layout, including the preparation of the layout room, around the end of february or middle march.
I must also see how the winter is going, because I need to do some roof work on the building.
To be clear and reasonable, I think to work on the layout around april or even may.
My plan is already far on the way; main is for sure ok; some specific LSE along my main still need touch up.
I have already made an order of ME code 55 track and buy welding station to begun to build some module frame; but nothing on the way until now
Today was a great day when the mail came.
First: Harrrison sent me a set of custom Rail Graphics decals for the FAWN GROVE AND WHITEHALL railroad. It has been over a decade since someone sent me a set of custom decals, and this was wonderful to receive.
Second, My Northwest Short Line high walkway 8,000 gallon tank car showed up. This is a freight car I have been wanting for a while, and it is nice to finally have it added to my collection.
My wife snuck up on me and took a picture of me working on my new paint booth project.
I love good days.
The Photo Fun thread is doing very well this weekend.

I've been keeping an eye out for the 20K J&L Steel tank car from NWSL. They're a little crude by today's standards but, like your high-walkway car, a unique addition. I have the resin F&C kit but haven't cracked the box open yet.

All the lights finally installed on the inside. Just two to go over the doors on the outside. My wife is the microsurgeon in real life, I should have had her do it.

Ed, I also have the Funaro and Camerlengo kit for the 20,000 gallon J&L tank car.
The tank casting is great, but I do not like the frame in the kit. I plan to use a lengthened frame casting from from an Athearn 40 foot tank car for the model. I also intend to build it with traditional low walkways. The massive size of the tank will make the model stand out enough.
I plan to use 70 ton trucks and letter it for a light liquid.
Interestingly, according to the instructions, even though the car had three domes, it was a single compartment tank car. The additional domes were required for the extra expansion space for the large load.
