Bachmann to Aurora F9 (Brass Gear Inquiry)
Posted by Safety Valve on Thursday, October 10, 2019 12:44 AM

Hello! I'm wondering if Northwest Shortline has brass gears for the old Bachmann N scale F9 as I'm really interested in some, why? To re-build my Bachmann into an into an identical match to the Aurora Model Trains Santa Fe F9 unit which I assume Bachmann bought them out, the Aurora trains Sets can fetch prices about as-much sometimes as the Lone Star ones, money which I unfortunatly don't have, but would love to own some day! I'm interested in the old model trains, why I have no idea... I like the way they sound Wink plus the old motor smell is rather wonderful on another note, I heard they were re-branded minitrix locos somewhere! interesting though

The Aurora Postage Stamp N scale stuff was Minitrix. I had the Lil' Donkey set. Besides that, the Bachmann F unit I had was the only other loco that ran worth a darn when I was in N.  What a fooby loco it was though, done up in the Reading yellow and green scheme (and this was long befoore I was even interested in the Reading, dunno why I got that one, of all the options available).
