This week I have nothing new to post. I spent Monday and Tuesday driving to Nashville, and I am away from all of my modelling goodies right now.
I spent Monday night in Atlanta. On Tuesday I went to Riverdale Station just south of Atlanta, and Trainmaster in Buford before I completed my trip to Nashville.
I did see the donated STRATTON AND GILLETTE equipment they have operating on their store layouts.

Thanks for starting Kevin. I am always inspired by what I see here. My layout is not nearly so finished but in the last week or so between trips I've been working on undeveloped areas. Here is the back wall where there is hidden track beneath the elevated lines.

I managed to get some work done this week!
IMRC 40' PS1 Boxcar kit, substituted a 9' PS Door from the scrapbox for the 8' Door that came with the kit. Painted the car with Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow and lettered with decals from the AnnArbor Historical Society. The football is a layering of 3 decals, the brown football, yellow lettering and green lines. The car was originally ordered in the late fifties in yellow & black, and repainted in this scheme in 1963. Car was equiped with DF Loaders and used for hauling paper products.
Next is the 3rd Rock Island PS 4427CF Covered Hopper I have done, Proto 2000 Kit, painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray Paint and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Also replaced the plastic roofwalk with the Plano Etched metal one. Car was in grain service replacing the wornout 40' boxcars originally used in grain service.

I have been doing a little modeling, mosty cleaning up, organizing, and getting rid of stuff. I did see this cool track vehicle called a ballast regulator.

Finished this structure and have give it a name.
Very happy to see this WPF start with some nice N scale models, congratulations!
The construction of this structure was a nice Kitbash, knowing only the central structure comes from a kit (laser kit from Laser Art - Branchline in N scale), all the rest is scratch, including the big stones walls and many details.
Last evening I just finished this next structures of my N scale Fos wharf construction.
Weathering is nearly complete, missing are some figures and cars.
Signs are made with my HP Photo Smart printer using Open Office as software.
The base is Gator foam with a small layer of water putty, colored and dry brushed.
The name come from a friend which has really have made ships and motors repairs but for Mercury and Suzuki.

No real joy for me this week — but a job that I had to get done sooner or later. Back in October we had a deluge of rain that swamped the basement window well. Water seeped in and made a mess. Fortunately very little in the way of model railroad tools or equipment was damaged:

I made repairs to this area that took the brunt of the water damage. Glad I didn't go farther since, wouldn't 'ya know, we got another six-inch rainfall a few weeks ago. So I finally got 'round to pulling up all the underlayment and laying waterproof solid vinyl interlocking plank flooring.

Great photos all, obviously a lot of work going on.
The boys have finished the new crossover and the tortoise motors are connected and frogs wired to the aux contacts so a smooth ride through them even for the 0-6-0 tanks engine. Just have to pick up those peco springs as we don't need them for tortoise motored turnouts
Must be time for a beer!

Kevin, Thanks for the WPF start-up, Ahh, nicely crafted donated works on display, now that's somethin'.
TF, A belated thanks for the kind words last week. I recall a long stint of Mondays & Tuesdays off, something I at first bemoaned, but as the saying goes 'when given lemons, make lemonade,' made for a lot of quiet hours modeling.
Putting the finishing touches on the Jenny Lynn (my daughters name), a 51' western rigged dragger.

Nothing new from the BRVRR this week. We've been up in the U.P. visiting family most of the week.

NYC Hudson #5335 at the head of a short passenger train is overtaking NYC Mikado #9519 with a short local at the west end of the BRVRR layout.

A fine spread of modeling and thanks to everyone for their contributions! I've been busy with lots of summer stuff, plus a few special projects. Among them is drafting a bunch of paperwork to organize the state charitable corporation and federal 501c3 that we're packaging our local train show into now that our Illinois Terminal Division, NMRA will be organizing it after nearly 4 decades under the able guidance of the Midwest Central RR Club.
That almost takes the fun out of model railroading. I do know my modeling efforts have fallen off to around Bear-levels - and I don't have the excuse of having to handle everything with bear paws.
I managed to do a small bit of scenicking with a rock I brought back from the Upper Peninsula - accidentally. I found it laying on one of the refrigerator slides in the back of our truck, must've fallen out of a shoe when we were camping on vacation.
It was a fine little boulder, too, needing no help from me to just look right. I found a great spot for it on the Silverton wye.
With a little Tacky glue to hold it in place, this impromptu project was complete.
How about a little nostalgia trip back to what the 14 yo me was up to around this time of year in 1970.

Ahoy Garry, Thanks for your interest. As Allan mentioned, (and btw thanks Allan) the Jenny Lynn is a net-wheel fishing trawler. It is my understanding that 'western rig' means pilot house forward with work done on the aft deck.
