Looking for 3 sets of Walthors 933-429 passenger car diaphrams. Working on a project and now find they are discontinued.
Thanks.
That's too bad, I really like the Walthers diaphragms better that some of the others. In fact the bellows look is a lot better than the plastic diaphragms.
If I may, I would like to make a suggestion. Precision Scale produces a really nice soft rubber bellows diaphragam that comes with a separate stricker plate. Now, you can use the bellows in full width if you desire, but it makes a much longer diaphragm. Since they provide four stricker plates with each kit, you can cut the diaphragm in half, thus making it less wide. That's what I do for my passenger cars thus the diaphragm is lot as wide or long.
You can find on the internet who handles these diaphragm, and you can always contact Precision Scale.

Looking through my spare parts, I have found a number of old Walthers detail kits for passenger cars. I have what I believe you are looking for in a small container with no Walthers packaging. These are plastic striker plates with U-shaped paper like diaphragms. I have six sets never used. Had these nearly 35 years.
It's possible that the old paper diaphragms from Walthers are not permanently discontinued.
From what I understand, the ancient machine that makes these diaphragms is actually at Walthers in Milwaukee, WI. They are the very last thing that Walthers actually makes on-site here in the USA. Apparently, the machine is a real pain to use and no one likes to run it, but when demand is high enough, some poor guy has to set up and run the machine for a while to rebuild the inventory. Now, I heard that story a couple years ago, so perhaps the machine has finally broken and can't be fixed. But my guess is that Walthers will eventually restock it, once they find someone willing to run the paper-folding machine and punch for the striker plates.Still, until then, look for old stock in hobby shops. I'm sure they're around. There's several online, too.

I had to count what I have in stock, 10 striker plates and 11 bellows. EMDSD45, Double check your Bellows, I have some that are two stuck together, looking like one. You may have more then you thought.
gtinga, PM me your address. I could send 3 sets (NC) to you if your in the USofA. They would fit in a envolope and go USPS. I'll foot the 50 cent stamp or whatever they are now. I'm in south central PA. zip code 17404
You could also put your request on HOswap at groups.io. Someone is bound to have what you are looking for if you wait long enough.
I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.
PC101, Thanks for the offer! Couldn't get the PM thing to work so I sent you a friend request with my info. Thanks for the replys to all.

To be clear, three sets to do three cars. That will give you six bellows and six vinyl striker plates. Walthers #933-429. The vinyl striker plate gets glued to the bellow, then the bellow will get glued to the car.
I had to find my Athearn pass. cars to see how I fasten them. I used GOO and it is still holding after 36+ years. These diaphragms came separate as Walthers # U429 @ .40 or in the Walthers Super Detals Kit # U723 @ $1.15 year 1971. Walthers year 2010 has them listed as a set #933-429 @ $3.49. I love my old Walthers Reference Books. I stopped buying them when they went to HO and N together and with less pages. I know the internet has killed the catalog.
Back on subject, the items will go out Wednesday 7-Aug. 2019 at 0900 heading out on a South bound mail train.
Thank you very much! I've used GOO on mine also, seems to be the universal adhesive. Do you need anything from down here? Heat and humidity are on sale now.
Thanks again. GT
PC101, Got them. Thanks!
