Not sure if anyone makes an accurate sound decoder for this unit yet, check Soundtraxx. As far as speakers go, use the biggest one you can fit in the loco, for best sound.

[#ditto] on the soundtraxx and using the largest speaker possible ,you will need to allow room for a good baffel to mount your speakers in.Although to modern for me the Athern GEN.series sd 70 should be a very good canidate for sound, with all the etched metal fans and grilles, you should be able to get good sound out of it. If you allready have a decoder for motor control there sound only decoders are very simple to install. Because of there limited function control you may want to go with the two decoder set up. Good luck Terry.

The first thing you need to do is take the shell off and see if there's room for a speaker anywhere. In some Kato engines, I have had to mill out the weight to make room for just a dime-sized Lenz decoder, and the Athearn Genesis may be all weight with no open space.

Hey, it would make people notice, huh? [:D]

You could always use an FP45 body and call it the ACE 3000.
