This engine has developed a habit of stalling and sometimes restarting. This happens when running light as well as with cars, it happens on straight level track as well as other places. The wheels and track are clean. It regains electrical contact with the slightest touch. I have file the bottom of the fuel tank which helped in some areas but universally. Any Ideas?
If, as you say, the wheels and track are clean, it could be a loose wire. That would explain the resumption of electrical contact with a slight touch.

I would contact Atlas and advise them of the issues you are having.

Is this DC, or DCC/onboard sound?

Get a small piece of toilet paper and put it over both rails. Then slowly run the engine over the tp. If it stops when both axles are on the paper then the other truck is not picking up power from both rails. If it doesn't stop then reverse the procedure to see which truck is having electrical problems. Once you have determined which truck is not picking up power then using the tp do one rail at a time running the good truck on the tp and that will tell you what side of the other truck is not picking up power. Then take a look at the wire connection to the truck and the circuit board inside the loco. ------ Ken
Owning a couple of Atlas MP15s w/factory onboard sound, I can tell you that there is a lot of wires and electronics stuffed into that body. Some of it is susceptable to being pinched, and can be made worse by fiddling with it. If you feel confident in your abilities, go for it, but you could loosen wires that are not already loosened when you stuff things back under the shell.
If it not an obvious under chassis problem like a loose wire attached to a truck, I would heed BRAKIE's advice and call Atlas first to see if they are willing to help you (for a small fee plus shipping I assume).
