Good luck!
This kit from Woodland Scenics was replicated in a couple of different trainsets on Petticoat Junction.

I have no idea how close it would be.
One of the images that comes up on Google, is the actual movie set, maybe you can glean something from that.

Thanks Mike
I used to watch the series, and don't remember a scene that shows the building, just the front porch, the walkway to it, and the inside rooms.
Found one photo but its far away and blurry realy cant tell much about it.The woodland kit is to small would have purchase 3 kits to even get close and thats not an option.thinking about just guessing. Its for a diaroma for my wife tring to get her into hobby hoping be able to butter her upso i can expand again lol. Thanks alot for your help
I think the whole thing was just a movie set, and there was never a real building, as there was never a real Petticoat Junction. Just a show, with girls in the water tank.
Here's a thread in here from a year ago

Have fun,
It was just a movie set, not a real or even a full building!
I just recently watched the series and I can´t remember seeing a shot of the hotel, other than the front porch!
Happy times!

Interesting site Mel. The Shaddy Rest looks like the Woodland Scenics building, widened out.
I don't get where the OP says he seen a blurry picture of the building, as it never really excisted, but, oh well, I guess he's building a diorama for the wife.
Lots of fun!
mbinsewiJust a show, with girls in the water tank.
I recall a conversation with some friends a few years ago about the water tower. Some people complained that the girls were in the water tower for the city's drinking water. Then someone else remarked how it wasn't drinking water, it was the water for the train's steam engine. They were correct.
Yep, I know, and it just figures in today's world that some would have a problem with that.
So is that the shortest train ever, locomotive, tender and only one car?
Lots of Curves, you bet, even more when you get, to the junction.
Sierra No. 3. Hooterville. That Little Steamer sure was a Hollywood movie star. Sitcoms alone..... Petticoat Junction, Wild Wild West, Gunsmoke, Little House on the Prairie, Lassie, Rawhide, Green Acres, and more. Also many, many Hollywood movies, too many to List.
I like that little steamer number 3. I saw her on Little House on the prairie last night.

This is probably the fuzzy picture the OP saw. It is probably fuzzy, because it's only a prop and not an actual structure ....

Oh yea! I bet that's it! Looks like a model, a fuzzy picture of a model.
I bet that was a model. The central portion of the structure has a certain resemblance to the Bates mansion from film Psycho. Maybe they kitbashed the Shady Rest from a large scale model built for that movie? And I see from HO Seeker that at one time an outfit called Polar Lights made a plastic kit for the Bates Mansion.
Which somehow reminds me that at one time you could buy a shower curtain that had the image of Norman Bates's mom with a knife in her hand. Perhaps the goal was to encourage us all to conserve water by taking briefer showers ...

Yes a model no doubt.
The live action shots in front of the shady rest never showed more than the porch, there are photos of that studio mockup online.
