How to remove counterweights on Bachmann Large Scale K-27
Posted by SooLine720 on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 11:55 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty sure my Bachmann K-27 comes with the counterweight issue (two of the 8 counterweights are a bit wobbly) and I need to replace them. I already ordered the counterweights from Bachmann, and was wondering how to cleanly remove the pre-existing ones to replace them. Thank you.

Is this what you have?

From Bachmann's web site, the product reference page.

I have seen that, thank you! I was just wondering if it was a matter of popping out the covers hiding the screws, and removing the hex screw holding the counterweight to the driving rods.

I've never had one, I'm into HO scale, but I thought if you haven't seen the diagrams yet, they might help you figure it out.

Bachmann is usually very good about answering questions, and their forum is a good place to get info.

Good luck, and happy New Year!

Mike.
