Nothing new again this week, still unpacking boxes and trying to set up my workbench to start modeling again.
Dug out an old picture from the archives, Stewart C628 and C630 hauling G39 Ore Jennies on the Strongsville Model Railroad Layout, which will be open this weekend from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM each day.

This week I finished a really cool boxcar. This one is painted and decorated for the DEVIL'S GULCH & HELENGON. These are two cities that were represented on John Allen's famous GORRE & DAPHETID layout.
The decals were custom made by an enthusiast, and he sold the extras on eBay.
The model is a Broadway Limited model of a NYC prototype. I had a terrible time getting the etched roofwalk to stay in place on this model, but I finally won that battle. As usual, it was painted with Scalecoat 2 paints. This is the second G&D line inspired freight car in my fleet.

They going from 1tb of free space to 1000 photos, I already have 3400 on the page. Google photos is unlimted space at 16 megapixels images and I already have an account for the youtube chanel, so I am trying that out.

Rick, Thanks for the kick-off and the reminder that it is the holiday show season right now. You may want to check around to see what's going on in your area.
Kevin, That's a really neat looking car. IIRC the DG&H was narrowgauge, but it makes sense that things were later standard-gauged.
GARRY, That SD pic has a real feeling of drama and action.
Harrison, Love that lightning-striped paint scheme. The D&H really was a classy line, even before the PAs came along.
RDG Casey, That project is coming along nicely.
Let's take Goose #5 out for a spin. Climbing the grade on the Cascade Branch...
Passing the Crater Lake Stone Mill in Purgatory. The big "B" boards indictae where the "hand brake" is located between the rails to hold cars on the grade at this location.
The Goose prepares to leap over Lime Creek Gulch.
After meeting the Goose at Camp 10, the "shorty" prepares to continue its run to Silverton.

I have been continuing to work on my Rio Grande Cabeese. I have finished the majority of the painting and decaling. I still have to clear coat them and weather them. I can then install the glass in the windows and finish up the ends. I only have trucks for two of them right now. The other two are on order.
These are Protowest Scale Models kits. They are kind of a PITA but I have had some serious fun putting them together.

I've been working on cleaning up the mess since one of my shelving units fell a few weeks ago. I've made some progress:
NYC #2030 is back together. I had to repair the rear steps and the handrails. A test run showed no damage to the drive train or decoder. A little engine black and yellow will complete the repairs.
SF #337 just needed a couple of truck side plates replaced and a new close coupling. Now I see a handrail out of place on the B-unit. The test run was satisfactory.
Five or six more to go. The real bears are the steam engines. One, the SP Daylight is beyond repair. I'm working on a Niagara now. Next will be the Challenger.
Keep the photos and ideas coming guys. Thanks to you WPF is always the best thread of the week.

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
Garry: Those are sure some good looking EMD SDs on your layout.
Harrison: The scenery in that section of your layout looks really good. Keep up the efforts… your skills are coming along impressively.
Casey: That is one powerful looking locomotive. I looks like it will pull like a beast when it is done.
Mike: The DG&H was narrow gauge in John Allen’s world of nonsense. My world of nonsense is just a bit different I guess. Your galloping goose pictures are great.
Renegade: Those cabooses sure look like a good fleet. I have never take a picture of all my cabooses together, maybe I should.
Allan: Nice to see that the repairs are progressing. Thank you for the kind words about my boxcar.
Peter: That automobile repair shop building is amazing. Your work is always wonderful to look at and inspect. Flawless!
Bear: I had the same thoughts about Harrison’s scenery. Great job!
