Has anyone ordered anything recently from Wig-Wag Trains?
I placed an order with them about 2-1/2 weeks ago. I received an email invoice immediately after placing the order but have yet to be charged anything. No reply to an email query. Wasn't sure whether to give up on them since my bank account hasn't been charged.

Did a little checking online and read a couple of less-than-complimentary remarks/reviews about WWT. Oh, well. Since I haven't been charged anything yet I guess I'll just look for it from another vendor. If I eventually get what I ordered - great; if not - no bother.
Cannot answer your current question but my experiences have not been positive. About one year ago I saw some stuff I wanted on the web site and tried to order but I got a snippy response back that the web site I was using was obsolete and gave me a revised website to visit. Made it sound like it was my fault that I was trying to order from an obsolete web site that was still very much on line. I did my shoping elsewhere.

I thought I'd update you all on my order from Wig-Wag Trains.
I did eventually receive an email reply from George, who told me to call Debra directly during "phone hours" - i.e. Tue-Sat, 1-5 PM MST. I didn't get around to calling Debra but I did receive a USPS shipment email Tuesday afternoon and the package arrived this AM. I will say that the contents were welled-packed.
I saved a couple of bucks ordering through Wig-Wag but I don't think I would order through them again - unless the savings were significant and I wasn't in a huge hurry for the order.

I used to use Wig Wag a lot. Reasons for changing were simply the real time ordering on the Model Train Stuff site. That said, I am aware that George has had numerous health problems, and occasionally they even note on their web site that both George and Deb will be away for treatments.
In essence, they seem to be trying to be business as normal under trying circumstances. At one time, she had a regular job, he was an accountant and it was all part time. Not sure if it is their sole source of income now and they need to do this, or what. I have heard they have struggled to keep up as they used to.
At least it doesn't look like they did anything unseemly (I doubt they would) but there was just a delay in responding. Hey, I have waited for four days for the guys at the Ford Dealership to tell me what's going on, so, like Amtrak, not every delivery is on time.

George stated in his email that he was in CO involved with the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR and wouldn't be back in NM till Christmas Eve, or there abouts. So, maybe his health issues have normalized for the moment.
I wasn't suspecting any foul play from them. It was just that - other than the initial PO - there was no further communication from Wig-Wag until after my email inquiry.
The important thing is that they came through eventually and I received my product, which I'm happy with. And, as noted previously, the box was packed very well.
I, too, have been spoiled by M.B. Klein and their real-time inventory. I mistakenly think that if another vendor lists that a given product on their website is "order-able" then they have it in stock - Nope.
Walthers, eBay, and M.B. Klein are a few of the vendors that state on their websites if they have something in stock or not. The latter two are of the very few, however, who will tell you how many they have or have left. If I order something from M.B. Klein and they state that "3" are available; as soon as I order it then immediately go back to view the inventory count for that item, it has already been reduced to "2". That, their pricing, and their generally quick turnaroud on shipping keep me coming back as a customer.
it works both way on up-to-date inventory on the web. I had a specific car I was looking for a while back. They were hard to find and the few I found on the auction sites were high priced. I found a web site (based in NY I think) that showed they were out of stock so I called to check. They guy (owner?) on the phone said he would check. He came back and said he actually had 5 of the cars I wanted and quoted me a price to buy all 5 at less than original sticker price. As you might expect, I quickly purchased all 5.
If you are willing to make a few calls, it is suprising what you can find.
