I came across an Ebay seller who sells F-Unit shells. He offers both the Highliners and unknown to me Intermountain body kits. I had immediately tons of plans and ideas when I saw them. I have seen (and own) RTR F3 Genesis, but never seen an IM before. Do they have the same origin? If not, can anyone explain the differences?Regards

Genesis are considered by many to be the very best rendition of the F unit nose in HO. The IMRC are pretty good also, but I've always thought the post between the windshields looked a little on the wide side.
IMRC created their own molds for F units back in the 1990's IIRC. The shells were on the market before IMRC had a chassis so I believe they would also fit the Stewart/Kato drive as a stop gap until the complete F's were shipping by IMRC.
The shells have different origins. The Genesis were disigned by Paul Lubliner and sold as Highliners undec kits and Athearn partnered with Lubliner to offer the Highliners in their Genesis line. IMRC developed their F series separately.

I just got onto eBay to see the undecorated IRMC offerings. It looks like they are limited to F7s. As you probably already know the Highliners shell kits have the parts for assemblying either an F2, F3, or F7 A- or B-unit. I don't know if IRMC offered any other F-unit kits other than F7s.
