I am not an NS modeler, but came across a topic about the NS SD70ACC locomotives. I did a little research and found out that they ae converting some of their SD70;s to AC traction.
Checked out some pictures and found that if you ge an SD70ACe, remove hte superstructure and replace it wqith an SD70 superstructure you will have an SD70ACC.
I model in N scale, so the conversion would be easy since Kato makes both models. I testedit and the SD70 superstructure fits on the SD70ACe handrail and sill perfectly. Another easy conversion to upgrade your DC locomotives to ACtraction.

Apparently your forum got buried, so ill take a shot at it. The 70ACC Cab is a little different than a standard 70ACe cab. The windows angle down on the sides to provide better visability. It is almost a mix of the old NA safty cab and a 70ACe Cab. Your Idea is a great one, but for the rivet counters out there, one piece of advice would be to CAD design a cab if you wanted to be a perfectly accurate model. I may try this idea on a Bach or Genesis SD70 In HO.
There's only a few in here that model modern. I'm one of them, along with some of the younger guys in here, but I'm far from a rivet counter. Although my age would fit the time of steam, I was never around railroads at that time.
Not many rivet counters in here, unless your talking about 1950's railroading.
