Question for Steve Otte
Posted by josephbw on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 10:10 AM

I have tried to contact customer service, and gotten no response. I just tried to send an email to the editor, and got an error message.

Is there any way to get through to someone that works on the coming events column?

Thank you,

Joe

Probably not until after 10/22/18. Kalmbach is going thru a vast infrastructure change, including a new customer service provider and they control MR along with the other sites. It has been discussed on some of the threads already, even Steven has tried to explain, but He does not have any control of the changes......

Take Care! Big Smile

Do you want to post a coming event?  You can do that yourself.

All the way up at the top right of this page you'll see "resources".  Put your cursor there and a drop down menu will appear with one of the choices being "coming events".  Click there and then look at the bottom of the left most column.

You'll see submissions.

There has been no "Coming Events column" in the magazine for many years, so there is no editor who works on it. It's an online-only thing now, a feature of our website.

That said... the Coming Events part of our website is handled by a server that has been having intermittent problems lately that have proven very difficult to pin down. I'm afraid we don't know when the Online department is going to figure them out. So all I can recommend is keep trying, and cross your fingers. Sorry I can't be more positive than that.

Thanks for responding Steve. Now I'm really confused. I'm looking at the Oct. 2018 issue and on page 77 the Schedule of Events column starts. Are we talking about the same thing or has the name changed?

I've been trying to list our club's upcoming Swap Meet for almost a month now. I had the same problem last year with RMC, and as a result our listing did not get published in thier magazine.

Thank you,

Joe

Hi Max,

That's what I've been trying to do. I've done this every year for about 30 years now, and this is the first time I've had issues like this.

Thanks,

Joe

Those are paid advertising, and are handled by the advertising department, not Editorial. There's information on the top of that section about how to submit an event. Send snail mail to Model Raillroader Classifieds, P.O. Box 1612, Waukesha, WI 53187-1612; phone 888-558-1544, ext. 440; or e-mail OnlineClassifieds@kalmbach.com.
