Evening, all.34f and clear.
Waiting for the Brewers to play, hope they do as well as last night!!
Badgers blew out Illinois. Now, if the Packers will start playing, that would be good. Can't lose this week, we have a bye! LOL!!
Running trains and having fun, too! I have 8 or 9 steam era bunker reefers that I pulled from service. They're too old for early 70s. All have KD couplers and most have metal wheelsets. If someone can use them send me a PM.
My right hip gets replaced 5 November. Hopefully I can recover quickly enough to run trains during my forced vacation! Ha!
That's all for now. Hope everybody is ok!

I'm back to civilization, although in South Carolina, Stephen would be addressed as Mr. Stephen.
And Mr. Lloyd, Lloyd Bentson would say I knew Benny Goodman and Saint Motel is no Benny Goodman, although in another video, same group and song, the dancing women are cute.
No wimen in this video.

No they aren't no Benny Goodman...
They're better!
Just kidding!
Nothing like those old big bands, they just have a special sound.
Please elaborate on why in SC I'd be Mr. Steven?
Steve
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
I have a wide spectrum of music taste. I like 50s big band music. I loved the Rat Pack. I cried when Dean Martin died. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Yah!
I also love the one hit wonders. My favorite that I wish I could post for you. I just don't know how to do it on my phone...... Billy Swan (I can help) Remember that one. Maybe someone could be a pal and post that one for us
NWP SWPPlease elaborate on why in SC I'd be Mr. Steven?
I recall many adults referring to me as "Young Master Edmund" — a title I could get used to.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_(form_of_address)
Now it is simply, "Hey, old man!"
Is anyone else seeing the "throwback issue" in the upper right of the M-R home page?
M-R_10-20 by Edmund, on Flickr
I thought I was going to be treated to an update of Rod Stewart's NYC-PRR layout.
Then I click on the icon and find out it is a December 2010 issue.
M-R_10-20b by Edmund, on Flickr
I know Mr. Otte has aluded to server problems but I don't think going back to 2010 will help that problem.
cudaken Ed Thanks for your input on the Adams. Is it bigger or smaller than a NYC Hudson? What do think of the whistle?
If I get some time, Ken, I'll try to make a short video so you can hear the whistle. I'll check to see if there's an alternate on the decoder, too. Sometimes BLI gives you an alternate whistle. I was disappointed when they took away the Leslie A-200 air horn from the NYC Niagara. Some early QSI decoders had it but when I put the upgrade ship in it went away. The P-7 is slightly smaller than the Hudson but not by much.
Cheers, Ed
Rat pack is my bread and butter music, my voice is best suited there.
Funny mention of Frankie, I'm watching a (old) Magnum P.I. where Sinatra is playing a retired NYC detective.
Two new bands I really am into right now are Bleachers and Saint Motel, both are new groups but they have this old retro sound that's fresh and new all at once.
Bleachers is 80s through and through, synth, electric guitar, piano, sax, oh yeah.
Saint Motel is this Vegas/California 70s vibe with a LOT of brass, choppy piano, some bass some real toe tappers.
Both groups are working on new albums so I'm excited (especially for the Bleachers one)
Anyways not much else happening.
That's all well and good Steven..... Cool! But can you help a brother out and post the Billy Swan Song?
PS Best Sax Solo ever.... Pink Floyd (Us and Them)

Thanks Bear You're the Best.
Besides posting the Billy Swan song. Dr. Hook Sylvia's Mother. I had forgotten about that one Rekindled, enjoyed, Thanks

JaBear,
Quite the video! I am amazed that the human body is capable of moving so quickly and so accurately! Certainly mine isn't!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Mornin all,
TF, sorry man I hit the sack right after my last post, I missed your song request.
If you have internet to find a video you want go to Google, search for the song and band, so let's say Bleachers Goodmorning, then click "Videos" which should with the "Images", "All", "News", ect tabs.
Now select the version you want, so I for instance picked the third result from the top, click on it and it should take you to YouTube, unless you have the app.
Once on YouTube there should be a "share" button, it might be a 90* arrow, click it and then "copy link"
Go to make your forum post, click the little video button next to the image link button, paste the link, enter, VIDEO POSTED!
Hopefully this helps, teach a man to fish and all.
Sometimes the "Share" button is in the "hamburger" menu (button with 3 vertical dots in upper righthand screen) click the "hamburger" the menu should dropdown, and so on.
That was rich Bear. Thanks for that It was enjoyed over coffee this morning. Definitely helped me wake up.
I've heard of these two guys, just never seen them. It appears the one has to have his bow restrung for every performance. It looked like Shredded Wheat
PS. It's all good NWP SWP, you gotta catch those Z's when you can
Can't complain Go Vikes
What's up.
You guys all on vacation here?
Send postcards. I want to see!
I'm here. Me being CN Charlie.
A nice warm day here. Just came in from enjoying tea and biscuits on the patio. Unlikely we will be able to do that again this year.
Say has anyone heard from Tom in Pittsburg? He usually posted about his weekend railfanning but I can't recall seeing one this year. Hope he is ok.
Nothing new on the RR front. I haven't run the N scale layout for quite a few months now. It is largely finished, just a few detail items to do but I can't seem to get motivated. I like N but I guess I prefer HO as that is the layout I seem to run the most.
Tonight is TV night, well most are, but we have Poldark on PBS this evening. It is really a great series. Anyone else watching it?
CN Charlie
NWP SWPFunny mention of Frankie, I'm watching a (old) Magnum P.I. where Sinatra is playing a retired NYC detective.
I like him in Von Ryan's Express better.
I don't have any MTV or VH-1 videos to post, though.
Fall color? All my trees are still GREEN! Very unusual.
How about a trip to the top of Mount Washington?

I seem to remember LGB making a rack railway some years ago. Has anyone ever done this in any of the smaller scales?
Still no news from Ulrich. Dave (HOn3critter) sent him an email but he hasn't heard back. I hope they're OK.
Mr. Otte was mentioning a possible update to the Kalmbach web software sometime soon, like this week? I wonder if the site will be off-line for a while.

Flo, give he gang and I a please and leave a stein outside for Ulrich
Got a little more yard work done. Rest of the rearyard is cut and ran the lawn motor out of gas which was the real goal and it is put up for the winter. Got a broken 15 foot limb down and picked up a lot of dead wood that got blew out of the frontyard trees.
Terry I have been told getting the hip replaced is not as bad as having a knee replaced. Good luck and God Speed on recovery!
Bear Yep I liked the video!
Ed Thanks for the offer but don't waste your time. I found a review on the one I have been toying with idea of buying. One I am thinking of is a Pargon III with rolling thunder. Did not care much for the whistle's I heard and having a hard time wrapping the idea of a Green Steam in my head. Steam engines should be mainly black.
Been putting off finishing the M1a for two reasons.
1 Afraid I will break a wire off the board. Not the same as the Photos Ed posted.
2 B&O F7A's can drag all the Pullman Heavy Weights. That is the biggest reason!
Found a trick to adding passangers. Cut all the legs off first, add Secnic Accsents Glue where you want them then waite till the gule is all most clear. Then stick there little HO butts down and they stay down!
Later, Ken
I hate Rust
I watched Railroad Alaska with my best friend Erv yesterday, recorded from the cable channel Destination America. He has been telling me about it for a long time, knowing that I like trains. We watched it on the big screen in the garage where we usually watch football
It was pretty cool. I enjoyed it. It was a little canned by Hollywood though. When the train had to stop in the middle of the 350 foot high Gulch Bridge and the brakeman was a afraid of heights. I knew it was a little canned.
Still a very cool reality series. I must say I did enjoy it. The scenery was very good

What a great day of Socialization.
Nighty night all. I'm hitting the rack
Evening diners,
Seems the email updates are back online.
Anyone playing for the 1.6 BILLION Mega Millions Jackpot?
I did the math, the 30 year annuity would be 53.4 MILLION a year, and 4.5 MILLION a month, that's before taxes though.
Anyways, nothing much going on, we're working on the mobile home we got from my uncle, it's a LOT of water damage.
I'll leave this on the jukebox.
Howdy .... Coffee and a donut, please.
We returned from Michigan. A quick run back. 630 miles in less than 11 hours.
I hope everybody is doing well . I'll catch up on your posts later.... Is Ulrich still MIA ?
Meanwhile, feel free to post about New England railroading or progress with your model rairload projects.

Yeah, this is new to us, too. Every time they fix the server it finds a new way to break. Very creative fellows, those gremlins. Guess all I can say is, they're on it.
Anyway, here's your coffee and donut, Garry.

Came up with a lighting board that'll drive 32 LEDs for a grand total of about $7.50 built (well, in theory anyway - I need to get the parts so I can program them out to 32 LEDs first -- I only have enough bits to test up to 16).
Not sure what I'll do with all of them -- the prototype boards from China come in lots of ten (10), and I sure don't need 320 random LEDs lighting up on my bench (as I don't even have a plywood praire right now).
(edit) -- to be clear, I ain't advertisin' :)
Maybe if I make enough fun things like this, I'll send an article to MRR :).

Dan ... Good to see you in the Diner . Your LED lighting sounds very interesting .
Steve O ... thanks for the coffee and donut ! Delicious!
Everybody.... Happy Model Railroading !

Sure hope Ulrich is Ok.
Took Wife to therapy. Dave made her scream when he forced her knee backwards more than she wanted to. Good for him, she won't do it on her own and if I did I be a Jerk! Times running out, I go back to work in 6 days now and she only has 6 more treatments. She goes to see her Surgon Tuesday and he could add more therapy, maybe.
Time to walk the dog.
Evening folks,
So I'm only going to allowed to do a solo and the duet at the fall art crawl, so I might try busking on some of the side streets after singing at the music school.
After we sing together I'm going to ask Annalise if she like to go out on a date, I gotta give it one good try.
gmpullmanI seem to remember LGB making a rack railway some years ago. Has anyone ever done this in any of the smaller scales?
Gidday Ed, for some reason, I thought it was Marklin, but I was wrong.
