Piko HO

hope this isn't a dumb question but here goes:  will Piko HO trains run on standard Bachmann nickel track and with Bachman power?  Been wanting to run Euro trains on my tabletop but no room to build a new layout.  Thanks for your help

If your Piko trains are DC, yes.  If AC, no.

It looks to me like they will.  There is only the pair of rails in images, and none of the centerline dots that one sees on the AC HO Marklin sets.  They also offer DCC NMRA compliant control mechanisms, so that would put their HO products compatible with NMRA-compliant tracks for HO scale.  This means Bachmann tracks should work.  I'm guessing that curve radius won't be a problem.

They do!

Piko in general sells HO scale 2-rail DC engines and cars, which are built to the European NEM standard, which means they will run on any HO scale 2-rail DC track with the exception of code 70 track. Peco code 75 track is OK, though.

But beware - Piko also sells 3-rail AC engines, compatible with Marklin´s proprietary system. Just watch oiut what you order!

Happy times!
