Are there any model RR TV shows?

I remember as a boy watching an American Flyer 1/2 hour model train Tv show every week that was terrific. I was about 12 then, so that would make the show to be on about 1951. Does anyone remember that show?
Also, are there any such TV shows ANYWHERE being broadcasted today? With Cable TV now having 999 channels, you would think that the "World's Greatest Hobby" would rate ONE channel???!!![:p]

Check with your local Public TV channel--there is a show called TRACKS AHEAD that has been on intermittently for the past some years. It pretty much depends upon whether or not your Public TV station has opted to buy it, though. If you have satellite, there is a show called I LOVE TRAINS on the RFD-TV channel that, though mainly about Lionel and Lionel collectors, is really well put together. The same station airs two other railroad shows, TRACKSIDE and TRAINS AND LOCOMOTIVES. TRACKSIDE is mainly about the Chicago railroading scene, but it's really interesting. TRAINS AND LOCOMOTIVES consists of hour long railroading films from all over the place--one program might be about the Norfolk and Western 2-6-6-4 when it was under steam, another might be about the last run of the Amador Central Railroad here in California. It's a pretty fascinating program.

I have a DTV system which has "Scout". Scout will search for channels that you are looking for by basically typing in a subject. I have "model railroding" on a consant search.I had 2 hits in the past year.One was "Trains Unlimited-Model Railroads" and the other was the "DIY" channel which had a week long segment of how to build a model railroad. Model Railroading is not high up on the TV broadcasting food chain.
