Yahoo Groups and IO Groups
Posted by oldline1 on Friday, August 10, 2018 11:37 AM

Does anyone know if the old Yahoo group "BACKSHOP" has moved to Groups IO? There seems to be no activity on the Yahoo site. I know a lot of groups have moved away.

Is there a list of Groups IO?

Where's a good place to sell stuff if they have just shut down, besides feebay?

Thanks,

oldline1

Unless the group owner really messed up, if you were a memebr of the Yahoo group and it moved, you are a member of the Groups.IO version. Most of the groups I belong to have moved, and I needed to do nothing - the ones I got emails from, I still get emails from. If you sign in to groups.io you should see a list of groups that you are a member of.

I've been hearing of spam filter problems with the transfer.  So you might have been transferred, but your e-mail filter decides the notification was spam.

I just bothered to check Groups.io.  There's no group called "Backshop".

I now belong to an IO Group. Automatic.

Only Yahoo Group I could not leave for some reason. I tried to unsubscribe three times.

Yahoo went downhill after many years. I joined Yahoo Groups many years ago when Yahoo picked up a set of Groups I think around 1998 or 1999.
