Great show. Unfortunately he didn't mention trains, other than perform the song "Downtown Train" At the end of it though, the projected display shows a montage of various NYC freight and passenger trains.

Hello all,
When I was an electrician the company I worked for provided the lighting for several of his tours.
I was lucky enough to deliver some supplemental equipment to the tour when he performed at The Hollywood Bowl.
Not a particularly big fan of his but he did put on a very entertaining show. You forget how many "hits" he had over the years.
Glad you had a good time.
Hope this helps.
"Uhh...I didn’t know it was 'impossible' I just made it work...sorry"
I am a huge fan of his "American Songbook" albums, and have them in full rotation on my Itunes playlist.
.
Some of his early album songs, like Handbags and Glad Rags are absolutely beautiful. Most of his early pop stuff is not for me, but deeper in those albums are some real gems of songs.
The Motown Song is probably my favorite hit single he had.

Living the dream.
Never seen him in concert, but I have most of his catalog on vinyl......
And I personally know two people who have supplied custom stuff for his layout....
It's a small world......

Slightly OT?
Maybe I should go see Train in concert.
Drops of Jupiter is one of my all time favorite songs.

I would go to the concert if I could find a way to meet him JUST to see his traveling trunk of model train supplies he carries with him as it's been told in MR that he does modeling on the road... Oh yes, I do enjoy his music...

I have never been on Rod Stewart's Tour Bus, but I have been in many others.
You would be shocked at some of the personal items these big time party boys travel with.
I have seen a few with model building outfits, some with othe various hobby workshops, many with an unexpected amount of religious stuff. Most have an emphasis on children's playrooms because they tour with family. I have only been on one where the interior matched the public persona.
The model building outfits these guys travel with really puts my portable tool box to shame.
I was indside the Hooters Calendar Girl tour bus in 2005, and it looked like a university library on the inside. Four desks, college textbooks, noteboooks, chalk board with mathmatics all over it. Bummer. It was obvious there was a lot of studying going on and no partying.
Of all the hundreds of concerts I have been to, I have never seen Rod Stewart.
The fantasy version was going to see him in hos Vegas residency, getting seats right near the front, and wearing something like a "Model Railroading is Fun" hat to try and catch his attention, then getting invited to see the layout.
Alas I have no railroad attire, though I probably was close enough that he could have seen if I did. This >< close to getting a soccer ball (his other passion, besides music and model railroading, is the Celtic Football Club), so he tosses (and kicks - he's got a good leg, some went halfway back along the floor of the arena, which is also used for hockey and arena league football) signed soccer balls. Guy in front of me got it. ANother 6 inches and it would have been mine.
Anyway, yes, only slightly OT, because he does show the train video, of US prototypes even, plus he's been featured in MR four times now.
I thought that if I brought a copy of MR to one of his concerts and waved it maybe I could get an autograph?

I just figure that everytime I hear "Young Turks" on the radio the royalties are paying for another boxcar on his layout. I do find it interesting he chose to model an American prototype in HO scale instead of a British one in OO.
When I worked in retail. one of his "people" came by for some pictures. She asked that I deliver them to his hotel room for an autograph picture. I wasn't a big fan of his, so gave it to a friend.

He has a British style layout at his house in London. So he has both.
