Jason Shron of Rapido Trains fame has hit the "Big Time". While I was searching for something mindless to have on the telly while working in my model workshop I found a Netflis series called Amazing Interiors. Finally episode 11 rolled around and I saw a face that looked awfully familiar.

When I lived in Nashville (1985-1986) I visited the home of a model railroader that had a reallt neat entrance to his train room.

We went down the stairs to his basement, which ended on the platform of a passenger station. We then went through a passenger car to access the layout room. The passenger car also served as the lounge area.
Of course it was all plywood. None of it was real railroad car or station.

There was a guy featured in MR magazine - I think it was in the 1990's or late 1980's who took the side out of his basement and installed a chopped down version of an EMD F7 cab in his basement. I think he was a KCS modeler and also had a pretty large layout sharing the basement with that F7 cab.

That would be Dr. Nick Muff in western WA, a regular contributor to MRH and RMC. I visited his place a couple times ~2006 when I lived in the area. At the time, the layout was still under construction and in very raw form, but the F7 cab (real) and passenger car (mockup?) were there in all their glory
