Good Morning! We definitively have a wet winter this year. It´s ra*ning and quite windy - not a day to spend much time outside. Galaxy - I am sorry to hear about your, say, difficulties. I hope you´ll be able to settle them and you and YOH are happy again (aside from all those smaller and bigger health issues that keep pestering all of us in a certain age). Watch a couple a steam videos yesterday and found one, which could not describe in a better way, what railfanning was about in my youth days. Got 75 spare minutes? Then join me in a sentimental journey and watch this <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlW2sV3hWu0" target="_blank">video</a>. It´s composed of Super 8 clips taken in the early 1970´s along the main line from Hamburg up north and describes the trip to Westerland, when the express trains were still pulled by the Deutsche Bundesbahn class 0.10 oilfired Pacifics. The video also shows the country I live in. Steam traction ended in 1974 on this line, only weeks before I returned from the US. The last steam train in Western Germany ran in 1977. I still remember the advertising campaign Deutsche Bundesbahn had in that year "Our engines have quit smoking!" Have a wonderful day!
