Walthers sent this press relaese yesterday:

Wm. K. Walthers, Inc. is pleased to announce that on September 4,
2018, Stacey Walthers Naffah will become its fourth President.
Current President Phil Walthers will retire from day-to-day
operations of the company but will remain Chairman of the Board
and be available to work on special projects. Read the entire

She's had a long career already at Walthers and is well-qualified to lead this crucial organization forward in the midst of immense change in the hobby and business worlds.

This all sounds like good news to me.

For me, Walthers makes most of the items that I purchase. They seem to have figured out what I need, hopefully other modelers too.

I'm also glad to see Walthers continue as a family business with established leaders already in place.

We've seen too many model railroad companies simply cease to exist when their founders/owners decided to retire or were forced to because of ill health.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
