I am adding pink foam board to my 5 x 9 layout and I am wondering what is the best adhesive tape (that can be painted over) for covering the foam board seams? Also where can I purchase it at?
I will take any kind of tape to cover (hide) my Foam Board seams and I can also paint over. So, when I go to paint the foam board a laytex Brown or Green color (to hide the pink color of the foam so it won't show through) before adding my other types of ground cover.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

I have several seams on my layout and I just scenicked over them and they all disappeared. In a few instances, there was a noticeable gap, so I just inserted a piece of styrene in the gap and scenicked over them. Not sure you really need any tape.

Like Bearman, I didn't use any tape either. Any wide gaps I had, I filled with the same latex caulk I used to "glue" it down, than I painted it, like what your going to do, and continued on with ground cover and scenery.
For foam board installations on foundation walls, etc., there are commercial tapes that can be found at building supply stores, like Home Depot, Lowes, etc., and building centers.
Heres one product:

If you Google "Tape for foam insulation board", you'll find many different brands out there.

Caulking the seams obviously will work just as well.
I created a under the Christmas tree layout for my grandson. I did use tape, simple clear packing tape. It holds the pieces together, it can be painted, it can be removed without ripping the guts out of the foam.
