Hey everyone, it's that time of the week again-Weekend photo Fun. For first time posters, this is where we post what we have been working on during the week(end). Any scale, any era, we've even had members post photos from working on a tourist railroad before...so here's what I have to contribute...
For those of you who are regular posters/viewers of WPF, you've seen the progress I've made on this. For new posters, this started out as just styrene beams, strips, and sheet. I still need to decal rivets onto it, and build the other box girder, but a coat of paint really improves the look. I also need to weather this bridge, the real one is pretty faded and rusty (last painted in 1980!).
So, let's see your good stuff this week, and keep this the best thread of the week!

I finished this boxcar for the Pumpkin Hollow Railroad. It is a little weather beaten, but it looks like the door has just been replaced.

Just finished flat PRR 925246 with pressure vessel load for Boothbay Railway Village. It is an Intermountain RTR; the vessel is from a Walthers tanks set
Opening day is fast approaching - Memorial Day weekend!! Still a lot of cleanup from winter projects to do, as well as finishing a few last projects.

Kevin, nice paint job on that car, as I prefer prototype cars to fictisious ones I appreciate your paint schemes.
George, good job on getting that load secured to the flat, it looks right.
I managed to get a couple of cars done this week.
Branchline 40' 1944 AAR Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Red and lettered with Dan Kohlbergs' decals. Car was built in 1947 and repainted in 1966 to this color, ACI Label added in 1968. car was in service hauling flour from Jackson, TN.
IMRC 4550CF 4-Bay Covered Hopper kit, painted with a mixture of Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Reefer Yellow then lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was built in 1977 by the Canadian Wheat Board and were assigned to the CP or CN for maintenance. These cars came about due to the Crows Nest Pass Agreement of 1897 where the freight rates for grain and farm machinery were frozen in perpetuity. The rates were so low that the CP & CN refused to make new cars available for grain service and the 40' boxcars were falling apart that were used to ship the grain. So the government of Canada and the Province's of Alberta and Sasketchewan purchased cars for the railroads to use for the movement of grain.
I am going to do a number of these cars as I need something for these new engines I acquired to haul:
A pair of Bowser GMD SD40-2's in CP Livery, I remember seeing these with the Canadian Wheat Board cars when I attened the NMRA Convention in Calgary, AL.

The bridge looks great! I hope you don't leave it so close to the edge of that furniture! That's courting disaster.
Nice flat car load, George. I'm also a fan of having various, interesting loads. They help alleviate the boredom of all those mundane hopper and box car trains.
Your cars and "Dash-twos" look sharp, Rick. I've always liked those big porches on those engines. Real EMD workhorses.

My projects for the week were mostly decoder installs in several locomotives. They pretty much looked the same so no photos of them...
I did manage to get a few photos of the DD1 project after finishing up the paint job.

The Pennsy numbered the locomotives in pairs and there was an additional "Electric Zone" number assigned, hence the 41.

I have to figure out a way to insulate the back-side of the pilot steps as they scrape the edge of the pony-wheels on the curves. One major headache of brass locos on DCC is tracking down the potential shorts and fixing the causes.

Allan. .. your NYC steam locomotives look great. My first brass locomotive was Tenshodo NYC Hudson my Dad brought Home to me from Japan in the 1950’s . I still have it.
