Walthers' Import Motors: classic auto preservation decals?
Posted by caboose63 on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 9:53 PM

With Walthers' HO scale Import Motors kit, does it come with "Classic Car Restoration" decals so it can be modelled as a car restoration business? I know Walthers has a classic car restoration business (N scale version of their Import Motors).

I tried and tried to find an answer to this question. I cannot find an image of the decals included in the kit. I looked on ebay to see if someone was selling an open kit and photographed the decals, and I read a few online reviews. Nothing.

.

Maybe someone is a better slueth than I am.

I would suggest calling Walthers.

The Import Motors kit is HO scale, item# 933-4023.  Nothing in the instructions says what decals are included. It is currently in stock at Walthers.

The Classic Car Restoration kit is N scale, item# 933-3824,  is discountinued, and no longer availiable.

So, check with Walthers.

I have one of the Import Auto kits. The decals included modern logos for BMW, VW, Mercedes, Porsche, & Volvo. I also have an N scale restoration kit that I bought by mistake, that's never been opened. The picture of the lettering on the box shows that they restore everything from model T's to Vipers.

Edit: To answer your question the Import kit does not include any decals for the restoration kit. They would be N scale and too small for HO anyway.

I would think using a little word creativity along with some artistry, a sign could be made that would fit with in the frame, that fastenes to the building.

If someone has the N-scale decals, they could be scanned and blown up, then printed either on plain paper or decal paper.
