My pleasure- wonder if I can get a kickback from the hobby shops for the referral after hearing that. Glad you had a great time.

Yeah close to two years now. It was a decent shop too. My soon to be wife's family is in the Savannah vicinity and I miss being able to make the side trip.

Georgia is a serious dry-land for model railroad hobby shops.
There are two good ones near Atlanta.
1) Riverdale Station in Riverdale
2) Trainmaster Hobbies in Buford

Other than those, I do not know of another one. There is supposedly one in North Georgia near the North Carolina border, but I have heard they have weird hours and are mostly old Lionel. If anyone has experience with that store, or any other in Georgia, I would love to hear about it.

Living the dream.
You also have Blue Ridge Hobbies in Greenville, SC. Not too far off I-85. Their hours are kind of weird and their selection isn't what it used to be, but they have the basics.
Modeling the Pennsylvania Railroad in N Scale.
