This Canadian company produces HO MLW RS-23 and Alco S-13.
My question is.
What happened to these models ? Website is up but nothing new since 2016 ? No updates on anything.
Are these great little HO MLW/Alco shells gone forever?
Did they go under ?

Some product was released, but reports from a few who actually received the kits were, shall we say, not too encouraging. I think the model side of their business was somewhat of a sideline due to hobby interest on the part of the owner and they are concentrating on what pays the bills.
I am hoping that Rapido Trains will in due course provide what we want with superior versions of both. Keep your fingers crossed.
For those not familiar with those locomotives, here's Ontario Southland's 506 (ex-CPR 8013), an MLW RS-23...
...and MLW S-13 502 (ex-PGE 1002)...
Another S-13, 501 is ex-PGE 1001...
Not one of the models mentioned, but one not too commonly seen nowadays, this is an Alco S-6, formerly SP 1073...
This is Trillium Railway's 110 (ex-CNR 8618) MLW S-13, doing some switching in St. Catharines, Ontario, several years ago...

Thank you for posting pics Doc. They are great locomotives ! Found CMR products S6 shell that will fit Proto 2000 S2 chassis on e-bay. Already have their T6 shell & Proto S3 to boot.

It was quite a few years ago when these resin models were released, maybe 15 or so. I bought one, thinking it could be powered using an Athearn SW-7 chassis. The hood was too narrow to accommodate the Athearn parts, so I had to make it a dummy. Fairly poor castings, many air bubbles. Instructions weren't very good either. I did get it complete but wasn''t overly impressed with it, sold it some time later.
If you should find one, I would suggest passing it up, not worth the hassles.

Rapido was not involved in any way in that resin kit, before or after. They no doubt watched with interest from the sidelines as the model community eagerly anticipated a wonderful model, and the subsequent disappointment.
My comment was merely that with any luck Rapido will do it properly, starting from the beginning research. After all, Mr.Shron needs at least one, probably two, S-13s for the Spadina area of his layout. The RS-23 was very similar, with a major external difference being the road trucks instead of switcher trucks.
The S-11 and S-12 also used the same stepped frame, but require major changes to the roof line to match the earlier 539 prime mover. They were both fairly obscure models so I don't expect they would have viable sales.
