Use of ESU Loksound Yahoo group
Posted by Martin4 on Sunday, January 7, 2018 1:24 PM

A few weeks ago I registered into the ESU LokSound Yahoo Group; I created an account and I am able to see the topics and all replies in each of them.  But I cannot reply nor add a new post.  I tried a couple of questions into the "Help" sections but it seems nobody monitors that...

Anyone has a hint ?  Thanks

Martin

Could be set so that the first few posts are moderated, so you may have to wait a day or two for someone to approve your posts. Once proven to be a regular user and not some spammer, you will be removed from oderation status.

I agree with Randy.  I'm looking at the group right now, and under the Group Settings, it says "Messages from new members require approval".

I guess you have to keep trying until they recognize you and approve.

Mike.

EDIT:  Just read your last post, posted while I typed mine.  Do you get some sort of error message?  Maybe something is up with the site.

I dunno!

The posts you make are held, and checked.  If they are deemed OK, then they are released and posted.  That's how they can check.

It is likely that the "moderated status" is not based on your registation date, but your amount of posts.

Some groups are not visited very often by their owner/moderator.  It's happened to me.  I wrote a post and WAITED.  And then it appeared.  After awhile, it just goes direct.

That's what I think normally happens.  So far, you haven't described anything I see as abnormal.  So far.

Under the "Conversations" menu there should be a "New Topic" button and a "Reply" button; my page shows none of them.

Then it DOES sound like you're not registered yet.  From what I've heard, the registration submissions "evaporate" after awhile, if not acted upon.  Maybe the moderator hasn't visited for awhile, what with Christmas and all.

I'd recommend trying again.  If THAT doesn't work, one of us who IS on the list can bring it up for attention.

I guess you haven't been "officially" registered, and not a member.  On the same bar that "Conversations" is on, to the far right, just before the help button, there should be word "Membership", which you should be able to click on, and review your email, etc.

If you don't see that, I'm guessing your not a member.  I'm in a few Yahoo Groups, and the format is the same for all.

I'm owner/moderator of a Yahoo group, and half the time I can't get access to do any housekeeping.
