IN the 1960s, MEC had a shortage of cabooses, and converted a number of old 40' boxcars into cabooses. I kitbashed MEC 646 from an Athearn BB 40' boxcar and a wide vision caboose.

They are kind of awkward looking as far as cabooses go. It is an Overland brass model that I picked up at the Berea train show for a song. (actually I can't sing, maybe the seller gave it to me cheap to make me go away!) I painted it and lettered it with CDS dry transfers IIRC.

Your covered hopper looks great, Bear! And, Many export cars were made by North American carbuilders and were shipped either to a port or to South America by rail so you DO have justification there.
I have a friend in Brazil that sent me some Frateschi Paulista passenger cars and an electric locomotive. I like to run them every now and then.
