I bought a Athearn RTR boxcar in the white Route Rock scheme this weekend and noticed the reporting maks are W&OV.

What is W&OV stand for?

Curious,

Mark

I would say West Virginia and Ohio. Just a guess.
In case anyone is wondering, Dougal and I answered the original thread of "What does WVand O stand for?" Then he changed it after discovering his error.
Ain't it great!!!

I have no idea, I've been wondering myself. I think that the West Virginia & Ohio was an 1800's RR.

Warren and Ouachita Valley, a short line in Arkansas absorbed by the CRI&P around the turn of the century. One of the road's steamers, until about 10 years ago, steamed at the Mid-Continent RR museum in Wi.

It stands for Warren and Ouachita Valley, It was a subsidary of the Rock Island. If you are curious you can find a picture of the prototype in the Rock Island Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment book by Morning Sun. The Rock also had some with "ROCK" reporting marks if you are interested
