Paul says...Please show some loco servicing facilities.

Diesel locomotion is still relatively a new idea on the Dutchtown & Geismar, so the maintenance crews hurriedly set up this refuling station.

Steam locomotives need water...

...and sand, too...

This one needs to top-up the fuel supply before leaving town...

More locomotive servicing, please.

A little late but here is my trestle. It is the tail of a wye. The little stubs at the bottom of the bents are the remains of the original trestle.

Back to locomotive maintenance.

More coaling towers, please...

These are the coaling towers on my layout.  They are part of the Bachmann Spectrum line of structure kits.  I replaced the original coal chutes with detail kits made by Tichy.

Two coaling towers...."will that be regular or Ethyl?"  Freight or Passenger grade.

I'd like to see more coaling towers.

George, This is one of my all time favorites. It is a 50' STRATTON & GILLETTE boxcar with a DF loader system installed. This is the only car I have painted in this scheme. I painted it about 20 years ago when I first switched to HO scale. It is built out of a Like-Like Proto 2000 kit. I am not sure, but it might be the oldest HO scale SGRR car in my collection.

Hope you enjoy!

An ex-PRR coaling tower. It is being refurbished and repurposed to load coal cars at the Tuscarora coal mine. The C&O is parked there because I ran out of room for them in the engine yard. I need to stop buying stuff.

Sorry, guys.  I did not realize that the topic had changed from "coaling towers".  I'll try to be more observant.

I built eight of these, starting with Athearn Blue Box cars which I found on the "used" table at a nearby hobbyshop....

All got new ends (Tichy), new floors and underframes - some came with none (Central Valley), new trucks (Proto National B-1s), new roofs (Des Plaines Hobbies), new ladders, roofwalks, grabirons, etc.

All had the car eaves lowered by removing the original roof above the eaves, then cementing the new roof in place, then removing that with the eaves attached and sanding down the cars' sides by about 6" (HO).

Here's an under-construction picture...

I have so many I don't know what to choose, so here goes!

Rail Yard Models Kit of the PC X79 Boxcar, 60' Car made by Thrall and financed by Kelloggs to transport cereal from Battle Creek, MI all over the country. I added all the brake lines and rodding etc, as it was not included with the kit but shown on the drawings.

The last request was for more cars. My favorite is the Old German beer car. When I was in high school most of my friends were a year a head of me and when they came home from college they introduced me to Old German.

Please show more cars.

Mister Mikado

Ya can't fool us, Dr. Wayne--that's a prototype photo, right?

The first time that I posted in the "Show Me" thread, it was a photo of a real train, as I didn't realise that it was supposed to be limited to models.  I quickly removed the photo and replaced it with a more suitable one.
I won't be removing that one, though, so thank you very much for your kind comment.

Here's another of my favourite freight cars, one of four built from these...

...Tyco r-t-r reefers.

I decided, after the original modifications, that they still weren't quite ready-to-run, and changed them into these...

...then these...

...and ended up with these...

The radial roofs were almost an afterthought (actually a correction of a mistake)...

...but I'm pleased with the end result...

Please show me some more of your favourite freight cars.

Well, I guess this could be considered a "freight" car?
