As I'm looking at buying my first Locos I have seen price differences between atlas and kato for example, is there a difference in detail quality?

Hello Dave. Yes, there are in fact differences in the loco details. For example. If you go with Kato you'll have to install the tiny little detail parts yourself which looks great once you've finished but is a real pain in the neck to do. As for the other brands such as Spectrum, Atlas, etc. Their details are both molded on or are factory installed. Hope this helps. Mark
