Rivarossi Passenger car roofs

I have a layout with outdoor storage and at one time I let the sun get to some athearn and rivarossi passenger cars and now I have a half dozeh ruined roofs. I have researched lots of articles on modifying passenger cars but nothing difinitive about where I can find new roofs to replace these ruined roofs or some difinitive articles which help me with my dilemma. Need help!

Have you considered replacements for parts?
Trainworld sell HW for as cheap as $7.00.
Don't recall the smoothsides.
