Not sure if you have seen this before:

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/meet-89-old-built-train-100000627.html

I got a kick out of the demonstration model that was pushed down the rails by a couple of human puffs of air. With the amount of hot air that I put out I ought to be able to run a train like this for hours on end!Smile, Wink & GrinLaughLaughLaughLaugh

Seriously, I have to given the gentleman full credit! This is amazing work!

That was VERY cool.  Thanks for posting it, Dave.  I'm curious how that particular type technology would transfer to larger scale, longer distances, and independent control.  I wouldn't think it would be that difficult.

Also, I believe Max or the other engineer stated that the technology would work on either vacuum or compressed air?  Did I hear correctly that Max's prototype was using vacuum?

Yes.  And, according to an undisclosed source, the new steam & diesel line will be branded as Bachmann's "Iron Lung" series.  This is a bold and a highly anticipated release at Bachmann, the source added.  And investors have been overheard saying that they will "breathe easier" once the new line hits the market later in the year.

You got wind of it here first...

First trials will begin in capital cities all around the world. It is expected that the hot air produced by government officials will be enough to power a system covering even the largest cities.

Very cool!  I wonder how one would wire, hmmm, I mean "plumb" a turnout?  Or a double slip switch?

On an MRR scale layout, maybe we've found a way to utilize that vacuum cleaner that sits idle most of the time!

I could, but won't, name an individual who could power WMATA singlehanded.  That would leave his associates available for every city from Boston to Atlanta.

Granted, Off Topic, but I couldn't pass up that lead-in.
