Two metal ores found in my area of modelling interest in Nova Scotia are pyrite (iron disulfide FeS2) and pyrolusite (manganese dioxide MnO2). Samples of both have been collected and crushed into small particles and powder. Some of each has been placed in the bottom of a beaker along with two HO vehicles, one plastic the other metal. Added water and will leave alone for a few days. Note that the plastic vehicle floats. Let's see what happens, if anything.
Once it starts, rust never sleeps.

Muahahaha LOL
There are two issues in play here.
One, will it float? I believe that this experiment has been previously tested on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The plastic vehicle will float, but the metal one will not.
Two, will it rust? I say no, neither vehicle will rust.

The key in this experiment is the manganese metal. The plot thickens ......
