Hi all, I have been searching unsuccessfully for an article in a Model Railroader a few years ago regarding painting windows on model vehicles to make them look like reflected glass. The models being worked on were maintainence utes by Walthers from memory. Hope someone can advise issue with this article.thanks
Welcome to the forums.
I think I remember the article, but like you don't remember just where.
Have you used the "Search Our Community" function in the righthand column on this page? Can be some help if it were discussed on the forums.
There is also "Magazine Index" found at the top right of this page under RESOURCES. (Small print.)
Good luck,
Richard
You are in luck... sort of. I was rereading MR from 1999 and there was a column by Lionel Strang ("Workin' on the Railroad") that covered this. He painted his windows dark black and then drybrushed silver paint to represent reflections. He did two articles... one on painting vehicles including windows, the other on painting building windows on a plaster building to represent clear glass. Don't know if this was what you were thinking of, as that was 18 years ago. But, it might help.
