Quality control for n scale engines
Posted by the old train man on Friday, April 28, 2017 10:40 AM

Just curious, is anybody having trouble with the front truck of certain diesel engines? I have two different diesels that I just received from two different manufacturers and both have problems. One had a bent axle, the other had a similar problem and they had to replace the front truck. At first when i received these engines I thought it was my track work. I redid curves, filed switch points & shimed the track up at various places to no avail ( very time consuming ) finally I sent the engines back for repair. Im a little gun shy now about buying new releases of future engines. Thanks.

Some  N Scale  brand of locomotives are not worth buying.

When I was in  N Scale back in 2012 my diesel roster was 100% Atlas since I knew these are quality engines was superior drives.

I highly recommand Atlas engines.

Yes I agree, but atlas has only one n scale engine with sound and these two have sound on board. I have 20 engines  by atlas with dcc and they are great engines, thanks for reply.
