I was just curious about the length amounts of Faller's two cargo boats; their motor cargo barge and their river cargo boat with cabin dwelling. What are the dimensions in inches for the two models? Being that Faller is a German company, the dimensions are in millimeters. for the motor cargo barge dimensions are 280mm x 60mm x 67mm and for the river cargo boat 360mm x 60mm x 67mm. In the instructions the river cargo boat can be lenghtened. Has anyone built any of these models, including the lengthened version of the river cargo boat?
You can divide each of the dimensions by 25.4 and get the dimensions in inches.

Thaanks Ed, for the info. having a learning disability in math makes it hard at times when working in model railroading. This will help me out greatly. Forgot to ask how do you figure iout scale wise the amount of feet a model would be in HO scale when converting from inches. Silly me lo,l
Hello all,
Check out this website for scale conversions.
Hope this helps.
"Uhh...I didn’t know it was 'impossible' I just made it work...sorry"

If you have the length of the REAL thing in inches, and you want to know how many HO feet that would be, you multiply by 7.26.
For example, if a thing is a REAL 12 inches long, it will be 87.1 HO feet long:
12 x 7.26 = 87.1
