[:D] I teased my brain between lionel and athearn. Actually ordered the athearn and then heard one and canceled. Wouln't it be wonderful to have the athearn and lionel chlalengers have a baby challenger. Then we would have the perfect HO challenger. Anyhow does anyone know who could install the Quantum system in my Rivarosi Challenger and about what it might cost.I actually emailed athearn about the sound system to see if they might consider making the second run with a better sound system. The reply I got was that they would pass it along. What a shame.
Thanks for your help
Jon

Why don't you check out soundtraxx i don;t think with the demand for sound equipped loco's you will be able to get a qsi system aftermarket for some time.Soundtraxx produces some very good sound decoders. I hope your not planning on removing the sound from your lionel challenger,if you are keep one thing in mind those locos will probably at least double or more in their value in the comming years. With a definite no from lionel about producing any more ho,and that they were limited production runs, anyhow it is your train have fun and good luck.

The QSI sound decoder that is used in the Lionel, Proto 2000, Atlas, and Broadway Limited locomotives is not sold to individuals, and a SoundTraxx decoder will not work on a DC layout. If you don't have DCC, you're stuck with locomotives that have QSI sound already installed or the Athearn with its MRC sound decoder.
