Train Box Alternatives?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, December 12, 2004 9:26 PM
Im sure you have seen those Train Boxes at train shows. the big cardboard boxes with the trays full of foam inside. Its a great idea but i dont wanna pay $25 a box. are there any cheaper alternatives or an easy way to make something equivalent?

Is it just me, or does it seem like if there is something that can be bought from a model train company and some other company that the model train company charges considerable more?

As for the boxes, unless they have something special, just get them from some place that selling moving/package products. You could probably buy foam blocks from other places, just make sure they will not mar the trains' surfaces.

Go to some place that sells cardboard and boxes, tell them what you want and see if they have it or any ideas.
