Hello;

Does anyone have this engine and are you having any problems with it?

I have three of them.  I did have to send one in for warranty repair, but the other two ran and sounded fine out of the box.  Now all three work well.

Hello;

Iam getting hesitation at different spots on the layout. All my other engines run the layout fine. The track is clean and I have cleaned the wheels several times.

DC or DCC?  Is it always the same spots?  If so are the wheels in gauge?

Its DCC with Sound. Atlas tells me they were shipped with dirty wheels and to just clean them. I have done that several times and the hesitations still happen. I even saw an N Alco S2 hesitate on a you tube video that was reviewing the loco. Im sure other people will chime in with the same problems. This very anoying for a new loco, Im dissapointed in Atlas.

Do a continuity test between the eletrical pickup wires on the DCC board and the track at different parts of the layout. In addition, I believe the shell needs to be securely fastened to the chassis to be able to work properly.

If you have cleaned the wheels numerous times and are still having issues, please send it into our repair department for them to have a look at it.
