KATO GP50 Battery Boxes
Posted by Eagle73 on Saturday, September 17, 2016 5:52 AM

trying to locate battery boxes for my Kato GP50. Tried Kato USA parts department with no luck. Also have been checking out eBay for last sevreal months without success.  If anyone out there has a pair of these, I would certainly be interested in purchasing them.

Thanks Earle

Hello,

Kato does not make a GP50. Could it be an Athearn? They make a nice one in their Genesis and ready to run line. Also battery boxes are usually molded into the walkways on athearn locos. Are you sure it is a GP50? See below.

Check out a store on ebay called Sooo Much Stuff.Every so often they will have old KATO Gp38-2 and GP 50 parts including the parts you need.

They are great people to deal with.My only connection is I am a happy satisfied customer.Big Smile

Thanks for response Steve. May have not been clear this is an N scale Kato GP50. They only made a couple of runs between 1988 and 1991.
