Streamliner on stands - Great Info Best Yet!

This special issue is the best I've seen from Trains, engine info, designers, streamlined steam, really a lot of good reading for me.

Rock Island info, and the first E units, and ATSF passenger to LA, Chicago,

Liked Streamliners much better than the layouts how to book.

Also like the MRR Turtle Creek extension. Now it looks like a real layout, even if it is NOT N.

I bet lots are opening this thread, wondering what is "Streamliner on stands". My first thought was there was a streamlined engine up on stands somewhere, perhaps being worked on.

Clear it isn't!

Ha! Didn't think about that... one of the Streamlined Steam Engines would look very attractive on a track next to the house, somewhere there must be one of those not melted down. My wife would want to run it!

There is a C&O streamlined steam engine at the B&O museum in Baltimore . SP4449 is semi-sreamlined, as is SP 4460 in St Louis.

I bought it for the article on the "Super Chief". Great information on all the cars and I especially liked the diagrams. Now I know how to set up my Walthers cars if and when I add interiors. Not much on the SP Daylight. Come to think of it, some of the cars already have interiors. Best if I look again. The article on the CB&Q Zephyr was excellent especially with the Durango Kid as the engineer. Ain't it great!!
