Lowering Mantua's 1860s Boxcar Redux

Have an updated "what-I-did" of the 2006 web article about lowering Mantua's 1860's boxcar to the more common side height.

http://www.chainsawjunction.com/1879/cars/lowering_mantua/

The update has mounting better trucks that are from the era:

The article is at my new domain name and not the old Pacific Coast Air Line Railway website.

Nice work Harold. I have a few of these (as well as stock cars) and I will make these adjustments one day. I hope MRC will continue producing them...

Worked on a simplified Mantua Box lowering utilizing more of the original including paint.

The only thing added is the upper and lower roof guides. Only guides have to be painted. ELO'd the lettering which gives a weathered effect.

Cuts conversion time greatly.

Neat little box car. What's ELO'd mean? Dan

The original lettering could be retained with careful cutting.
