Mr. Murphy has moved in with us ... I performed a little surgery on the Forney, i.e. getting the decoder out. Unfortunately, I did not only unscrew those 4 screws holding the tender part of the shell, but also those of the cab. I shouldn´t have done that! Now the doors are out and in the attempt to get them in again, I must have nicked one of the handrails. Luckily I found it, but one of the stanchions was missing. After an hour of crawling on my knees, searching every square inch of the carpet, I found it. A dab of super glue attached it to the handrail, which is now back into its place. While placing the loco back on the rails, I found out, that I must have broken off one of the brake cylinders. Again, a close search of carpet resulted in a find, but glueing the brake cylinder back to its place was nerve shattering. The loco is now complete again, minus the doors. Ah, well, taking the decoder out resulted in only a slight improvement of the performance [:(] As one fine day I will be getting that Backwoods Miniatures conversion kit, turning the Forney into a 2-4-0 with a four wheel tender, I don´t mind the doors being out... (so I tell myself). Not really happy today...
