Afternoon Gang! Zoe, coffee and a slice of apple pie, topped with vanilla ice cream, please! I had a couple o senior moments today. The mailman brought a letter from our customs authorities, that there is a parcel waiting which can´t be cleared due to the lack of an accompanying invoice. Invoice? What invoice? I had sent an email to Bachmann USA requesting delivery of some missing extra detail parts and I was expecting them to be shipped free of charge. Well, I had to drive to down ther to settle the matter - a 45 mile round trip for parts worth maybe $  1.00! At the customs office, there was a surprisingly big parcel waiting for me. It took a while to explain to the customs officer, that this is a free of charge delivery, so no invoice . He did not follow my arguments - [sigh]! So I opened the parcel and found a complete body shell and an invoice! The invoice amount, however, was $ 0.00. The customs officer was happy, I was happy - until I was back home. The part that was missing was not included! I need that part to convert my 4-4-0 into a coal burner - it´s the "saddle" for the stack. When my BP was finally down, my brain started to w*rk again. Why the heck should Bachmann include another stack if you can´t put it on the loco. Looking closer at the stack assembly, I found out, that the part I thought to be one is in fact two parts - the missing saddle! After 5 miuntes, my loco is now a coal burner! I now have a second loco shell, which I did not need first place. A big thanks to Bachmann, but a [banghead] to me! After lunch, I started w*rk on the dock, lots of fiddly little things had to be processed. About an hour ago, the job was done and the railing which I had built, was installed. I don´t know what made me do this, but I ran my On30 caboose along the track, only to find out it would not clear the railing [banghead]. I should have known, after having commented on that thread about the French trains being too wide! Fortunately, I was able to partly dismantle the railing and correct it - big sigh of relief!
