Bear!
Beautiful locomotive!
I'll contibute some pictures of my stock car project if I make any significant progress on it this weekend.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Nothing like the smell of a crackling fireplace or stove to cozy up to, Bear.
Still going over PM and other maintenance, but it's great to enjoy benefits of increasingly reliable operation. I did get a chance to correct my engineering at the Outlaw Mine, which I left like that as I began operating for access. Bear agreed I probably had too wide of a span between pillars on the loading dock to be plausible. So I added some more...
Got more lighting figured out, so Beartown now had the sun shining on them.
Put the camera on the little tripod for some unusual pics. Here's a train being put together at Crater Lake:
And the water column is now installed at Black Cat Junction, to the relief of many crews.

Well Bear, since winter has arrived down there, well summer has arrived up here, finally have some temperatures in 80's with thunderstorms forecast for the evening.
Again nice work by all so far!
Managed to complete the two 60' Auto Parts Boxcars that I was working on last week!
Athearn 60' Berwick DPD Boxcar Kit, painted with Floquil Platinum Mist and Scalecoat II Boxcar Red, then lettered with Oddballs Decals. Car was assigned to the N&W at Melvindale, MI for shipment of small parts to various final assembly plants.
Con-Cor (Ex Robbins Rails) 60' Greenville Boxcar Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Mark Vaughn's decals. Car was assigned to the Van *** Transmission plant served out of the yard in Warren Mi.
Thanks for looking!

Rule 1: This is my railroad.
Rule 2: I make the rules.
Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
Really good stuff from Mike and Rick. A TOFC in short freight crossing Stoney Creek.
As always, good stuff everyone! Here is a southbound early Friday morning. The crew wants to get the day over soon, as they have a long weekend coming.

EK Sub in HO Scale
Nice work everyone. Here's what I have to offer.
Foam carved and painted retaining walls.
Obviously, I still have some more scenery work to do, to hide the edges and blend it into the hillside.
(My Model Railroad, My Rules)
These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
Have a bit of photoshop fun for this week.
A Reading N-1 pushes hard at the end of a hopper train, plus a friendly wave from the conductor on the caboose.

Thanks for starting things off again this weekend Bear. Thats a great looking locomotive!
Terry - An informative video. I'd love to see a track plan for your layout.
Mike - The Outlaw Mine looks good to me. And some great layout photos.
Rick - Some nice looking cars there.
Grampy - Great photo as usual.
Tony - - Nice shot of the action.
Jimmy - Looks like a good start on your retaining walls.
Casey - The pusher looks to be working hard to me.
From the BRVRR while grandpa got to run the trains for awhile with a little PhotoFiltre experimentation added:
The power and grace of a NYC Niagara is apparent as it sweeps around the curve at the east end of the BRVRR layout.
Keep the photos and ideas coming guys. Thanks to you WPF is always the best thread of the week.
Remember its your railroad

Bear, On this a most hallowed weekend of rememberance thanks for heading up the WPF. Your photo sparked my interest and some fun learning about the A4, a famous and record breaking locomotive.
A little switching at the Conrado foundry.
Thanks to all and regards, Peter
Good Day, All...
Thanks again, Bear, for another great kickoff to an extended WPF. That stairway in the right side of your pic has a bit of relevance to my project this week, Bear!
Everyone has some great contributions this weekend! My hat's off to you all!
Peter, that brick work is outstanding on the back wall of the factory/warehouse being switched. It looks like it has survived many rough years. well done!
One of the major accomplishments I made this week was to finally get a 6" vent-stack up through the basement ceiling and into the attic for a paint booth ventilator.
I hemmed and hawed for years about how to tackle such a project and recently decided the best way was to use an existing chase behind a shower enclosure. It was a messy job but the worst is over and now I have an exhaust fan close enough to the paint booth that will exhaust dust and fumes and also provide ventilation for the muggy summer months.
As for the railroad, I have a one of those convoluted stories that I find myself getting "inspired" by. Sort of a confluence of ideas.
A few weeks ago, MB Klein featured a Faller pedestrian overpass and the photo caught my eye...
My layout has a fairly large Union Station and I immediately wondered if I could incorporate a few of these to replicate similar overpasses I remember seeing on the old New York Central along the Hudson River Division. Several stations, including Harmon, Dobbs ferry and Garrison, had similar looking structures and the more I thought about it the more I wanted one.
Well, then as quickly as the kit appeared at MB Klein, it just as quickly vanished! I finally found four of them from an Ebay seller in Germany.
So, here are the photos of the preliminary fit-up. I think this will add some visual interest and will look great populated with a bunch of little travellers...
Before the platform is cut, the mail and express has to be unloaded!
This is how the first stairway is being test-fitted.
There will be four stairways crossing three pairs of tracks.
After the first surgical extraction! The wiring for the platform lights had to be trimmed... I'll deal with that later
The beige stuff is super-sticky double-sided tape. It has done a fantastic job of keeping the Walthers platforms in place.
Now a clearance check with some of my highest passenger equipment... looks fine!
On to the next platform. That guy in the white coat in B&O 5302 sure looks nervous!
This is the extent of the progress as of 5:00 this morning! So far, so good. I'll need to add about .180" filler strips since my platform centers are a bit wider and, of course, the platforms themselves will have to be lowered and trimmed to match the existing ones. I find this quite plausible since many railroad stations had additions and alterations over their century or more existance.
So... on to more great stuff from you all. I hope you are enjoying the U.S. holiday and keeping the remembrance of ALL of our fallen defenders of freedom from all over the Globe.
Regards, Ed

in a 10x12 bedroom
This project was not completed in a weekend, but I have finally finished it. Well mostly. This was a first run Athearn Gensis CN SD70I that I repainted the shell for GTW. It still needs some dulcoat, number boards, and I should probably replace the lights.

Thanks Ed, I think the nicely detailed Downtowndeco castings do a good job representing the passage of time and they take well to kitbashing.
Regards, Peter
Well earned kudos, Peter.
You have me looking into the D-D line for some future projects!
http://www.downtowndeco.com/site/
I have two lasercut structures in the queue right now but I see a few D-D kits I'd like to tackle.
Thanks for the heads-up,
Ed
